Ballistic expert in Limpopo pig farm murder says her probe is valid

A ballistic expert in the double murder trial of a Limpopo pig farmer accused of killing two women and disposing of their bodies in a pig enclosure, has told the High Court in Polokwane that her investigations and findings are accurate.

Ballistic expert, warrant officer Fortunate Mahlalela, is on the witness stand.

However, a report from an independent ballistic expert, Lucas Visser, indicates that the state’s ballistic reports had errors and were incorrect.

Mahlale is testifying against the accused pig farmer, Zacharia Olivier and his co-accused, William Musora.

They allegedly shot and killed Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu in August 2024.

Mahlalela has however told the court that the identification of the bullets at the laboratory do not affect the integrity of the investigation.
