ATM leader Vuyolwethu Zungula.
African Transformation Movement (ATM) leader, Vuyo Zungula, believes the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is being used for politically motivated cases rather than those that affect ordinary citizens.
His comments come in the wake of the acquittal of the Jesus Dominion International Church leader Timothy Omotoso and his two co-accused, Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho, by the High Court in Gqeberha.
The trio were facing a string of charges including rape, human trafficking and racketeering.
At the party’s rally in East London, Eastern Cape, Zungula says the justice systems must be scrutinised.
“The NPA is deliberately being destroyed to seek political cases but the cases that are affecting ordinary citizens. We have got an NPA that prioritises political cases, that is why its destruction is deliberate, it is a political tool,” Zungula stresses.
