Assessments have started at the Grobler’s Bridge Border Post outside Lephalale in Limpopo after operations were halted due to flooding.

Grobler’s Bridge between South Africa and Botswana is among four border posts that have been affected.

Senior Sars Manager, Memory Ndou, says the floods affected offices including their warehouse.

Ndou says workers have been relocated to other border posts. She says the extent of the damage will be determined when the water level has subsided.

“The border was closed yesterday, on the 3rd (of) March 2025, because it has flooded and the water is continually flowing, coming, rising to abnormal levels. The plan from us BMA, SARS, is to redeploy employees to other ports. So, we have engaged with our traders, they will use alternative ports,” says Ndou.
