Arms dealer, police officer found with car full of weapons arrested in KZN

Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested an arms dealer and a police officer after they were allegedly found in a car full of weapons and 800 rounds of ammunition.

The two individuals were arrested during a roadblock at the Marrianhill Toll Plaza west of Durban.

It’s alleged that the two failed to produce valid documents that affirm adherence to the Firearms Control Act.

The roadblock was led by the MEC for Transport Siboniso Duma.

Duma says the suspects could not account in terms of the permits, and they have already been charged.

“They have been charged already, and we are going to follow that process. They have vehicles that also have a lot of lights that are not supposed to be there. What they do on the road is bull and tactics. They just flick on the road and people get scared and that is not allowed.”
