The Western Cape Minister of Education David Maynier says despite 2025 being a tough year he is looking forward to great Matric results.
The provincial results will be available at schools and on the province’s education department website on Tuesday.
Maynier has wished all candidates well as they receive their results.
“2025 was a tough year but the class of 2025 dedicated themselves to their studies and the matric teachers worked exceptionally hard to support in the run up to their exams. so we are looking forward to celebrating some great results. with our candidates and the schools who has before the class of 2026 takes over the reign.”
Free State
Since 2016, the Free State province has consistently been South Africa’s top performer in matric results, claiming the number one position eight times out of nine.
However, the province modestly admits that it’s not obsessed with the position. Instead, it’s consumed with delivering great results and for six consecutive years, this has been the case.
As the clock ticks towards the hour of announcement, the Education department’s spokesperson, Howard Ndaba says owing to interventions and support offerred to matric learners, they are confident about achieving their goal of a 95% pass rate for the class of 2025.
While congratulating the class of 2025, Ndaba also encounged learners who did not make it to utilise the department’s Second Chance Matric Programme.
