Four men have been gunned down in a mass shooting this morning at the Overcome Heights informal settlement in Muizenberg in Cape Town.
Police say the victims are between the ages of 20 and 37 years old.
Their bodies were found on the side of the road.
The circumstances surrounding the deaths of the men on Mountain Road are under police investigation.
Police in the Western Cape say detectives attached to the Anti-Gang Unit are working tirelessly to determine the events that led to the incident.
While gangsterism has not been ruled out as a possible motive, investigators are pursuing all lines of enquiry in an effort to bring those responsible to justice.
Scores of people have been killed in mass shootings in the Western Cape in recent months.
Areas such as Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha, and Gugulethu have been the most affected.
Last month, various stakeholders, including the Community Policing Forum, the Cape Flats Safety Forum and the Cape Crime Crisis Coalition, gathered at the Lentegeur Police Station to discuss possible solutions to the crisis.
