ANC’s economic stance will never change: SACP

SACP Deputy- General Secretary Madala Masuku says the party does not believe that the ANC’s economic stance will ever change.

Masuku says that the ANC has not addressed the issue of land and the country’s minerals since the dawn of democracy.

His comments come as the SACP has decided to contest next year’s local government elections alone.

Masuku was speaking in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, on Monday evening where the ANC is hosting its National General Council (NGC).

“Whatever the president has said here when he was delivering in terms of the progress, I am telling you in the next meeting, he is going to repeat that because the system that they are using is not allowing them to move in relation to land, in relation to minerals, sharing of the resources of the country to resolve problems. It can’t.”

Meanwhile, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged members to save the party from disintegration. Ramaphosa was speaking at the 5th ANC National General Council.

The NGC is a midterm platform to take stock of the implementation of resolutions adopted in the 2022 National Conference.

Ramaphosa says they want to rid the party of factionalism before its 120-year celebration.
