ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula addresses a media briefing.
The African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) has called on members of the executive to lead the charge in submitting themselves to lifestyle audits, starting with the President.
This was one of the resolutions taken at last weekend’s meeting of the party’s top leadership.
The call comes in the wake of efforts to renew the organisation and government as a whole.
ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula says, “The President leading the executive must start ensuring that lifestyle audits apply across the civil service … but you cannot enforce a lifestyle audit in a department if you are a political leader and yet yourself you have not undergone lifestyle audits.”
“So for us as the ANC, lifestyle audits start with the President and all cabinets and at the same time in all the provinces this must be undertaken.”
