“We work very hard to win confidence, but also to build a social contract with the people. So, it’s not just about elections. It’s about rekindling our connection with the people, not to be distant, and to be amongst them. And at the same time, to provide leadership and address their expectations. So, the January 8th statement talks about fixing local government and the economy. That is the message,” says Mbalula.
