ANC mourns the passing of Dikgang ‘Uhuru’ Moiloa


African National Congress (ANC) member Dikgang Moiloa has died.

The party has confirmed that he died on Saturday. Moiloa, who was affectionately known as ‘Uhuru’ which means freedom in Swahili, served in the Gauteng Legislature in different portfolios.


He served as chairperson of Committees and later as deputy speaker.

Moiloa also served as Human Settlements and Local Government MEC.

The ANC says it will commit to honouring his legacy by carrying forward the struggle for dignity, justice and service to the people.
