Party members from various groups accuse the current regional leadership of registration irregularities that have led to bogus delegates.

Some protesting party members yesterday said: “We have come here to seek assistance from the provincial office to say these people cannot be players and referees at the same time because they have got vested interest in the conference, that is the problem we are having. We are complaining about paid bogus delegates which are imposed on us, they are not on the ground and they only await election conferences and impose people we did not elect on us.”

Meanwhile, the region’s spokesperson Adolph Rapetswa says all disputes have been escalated to the appropriate party structures.

“‘The guidelines explain the process to which aggrieved members can find recourse, you first dispute to the branch, you appeal to the province, if you are not satisfied with the verdict from. The PDRC, the appeal to the national dispute resolution committee, all that has not yet unfolded, but people are already taking to the streets to challenge the preparations towards the conference.”
