ANC National Spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri speaks at the late Nathi Mthethwa’s memorial service
The ANC says its renewal strategy is gaining traction, pointing to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry as evidence of swift accountability for implicated individuals.
ANC national spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu says the party is making strides in regaining public trust and organisational stability.
She was speaking to SABC News on the sidelines of the centenary birthday celebrations for party stalwart Doctor Tlou Cholo at the TUT Soshanguve in northern Pretoria.
“What does this mean for the ANC and its current leaders? It means a lot. It means actually, the renewal is actually in practice and it’s gaining traction. You would not have a Madlanga Commission and ad hoc setup in parliament if we didn’t have a strong move towards renewing the ANC, in order to renew society and all institutions of the state, including parliament, step aside policies are being effected. We are cleaning up, and service delivery is taking place; we are fixing Johannesburg, that has to count for something.” – Reporting by Ntombi Sithubi.
