The African National Congress (ANC) in the Northern Cape remains tight lipped amid rumours of a possible cabinet reshuffle.

Former Sol Plaatje Mayor Mangaliso Matika who is a member of Provincial Legislature is expected to be sworn in as MEC of Sport, Arts and Culture.

The Sport Department was previously merged with Social Department.

Another MPL, Dimakatso Koloi is expected to take over the Transport and Safety Department which was previously merged with the Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs.

Donny De Huis is expected to be announced as MEC of Youth, Women and People with Disabilities.

Talks of the reshuffle in the executive council comes after Premier Zamani Saul streamlined the executive positions to eight after the national elections.
