The African National Congress (ANC), Democratic Alliance (DA) and Patriotic Alliance (PA) are contesting by-elections in Karoo Hoogland Municipality in Northern Cape.
The highly contested ward 1 in Williston previously represented by the DA became vacant, after a councillor resigned.
No party has an outright majority in council.
In the 2021 local government elections the ANC received 40.48% of the votes, DA 30.16% and PA 22.08%.
