Captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrives at the Downtown Manhattan Heliport, as he heads towards the Daniel Patrick Manhattan United States Courthouse for an initial appearance to face US federal charges including narco-terrorism, conspiracy, drug trafficking, money laundering and others in New York City, U.S.
The African National Congress (ANC) has accused the US of posing as the policeman of the world by attacking Venezuela.
The party has added its voice to those condemning the US attack on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
The ANC has emphasised that the move is a violation of the UN Charter and cannot be allowed.
The party’s Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula, addressed the media in Rustenburg in the North West today.
Mbalula says the fight for liberation continues.
“To this extent, we have resolved to work with all the progressive forces in our country. And mobilize against the American imperialist aggression including against our own country. Folding arms on and doing nothing will mean that we have abandoned the course of fighting for justice,” says Mbalula.
