ANC councillors must be first to know what is happening in their wards: Ramaphosa

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has unveiled the Service Delivery Action Plan to thousands of the party’s councillors at the FNB stadium outside Soweto.

The plan seeks to revitalise local government that is facing serious service delivery failures.

It is aimed at addressing water crisis in some municipalities, fixing potholes and building capable local sphere of government.

Ramaphosa says ANC councillors must be the first to know what is happening in their wards.

He adds, “Ask yourself, will any businessperson, any major business, would they ever come and invest there. And ask yourselves as councillors, what do we do to attract businesses. Because in the end comrades, it is the business community that has the money.”
