The African National Congress (ANC) in Tshwane has branded the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) plans to take allegations of corruption in Tshwane to the Madlanga Commission as illegitimate.
DA mayoral candidate Cilliers Brink says Deputy Mayor Eugene Modise has undeclared interests in security and water tanker companies.
Brink claims funds meant for infrastructure were diverted to politically connected entities.

Modise has denied any wrongdoing.
“Our view is that this is not legitimate, but a politically motivated attack stemming out of many reasons. If the DA was really serious about reporting corruption, it would’ve rooted it out when it was in administration. They would’ve flagged, or picked up acts of wrong doing that they suspect are there, when they are the ones that would have awarded those tenders,” says ANC’s Greater Tshwane Regional Spokesperson, Joel Masilela.
