Inkosi Xhanti Bambilizwe Sigcawu of AmaXhosa Royal House at march against the unauthorised coronation of the Nigerian Igbo King at KuGompo City on March 30, 2026.
The AmaXhosa Royal Family says it will fight to protect the sovereignty of the people of the Eastern Cape and AmaXhosa territory.
The community of Buffalo City is marching against the unauthorised coronation of the Nigerian Igbo King in KuGompo.
This follows videos circulated in social media showing the coronation ceremony held in at the city earlier this month, causing an uproar.
The Royal Family’s Inkosi Xhanti Bambilizwe Sigcawu says they are here to make a mark and calling on legal steps to be taken.
Sigcawu says, “It is totally unacceptable, we cannot allow our sovereignty to be undermined by whoever, not necessarily directing this to Nigerians. So, we are just putting it out to everyone throughout the world to know that this is the territory of Obakosa and no one must undermine that.”
