Kaizer Chiefs have advanced to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after an impressive 3-1 win over AS Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Chiefs enjoyed a comfortable 3-nil lead at half-time at the Dobsonville Stadium, in Soweto.
Also joining Chiefs in the group stage of the Confed Cup is another South African club Stellenbosch FC, after beating 15 De Agosto of Equitorial Guinea 4-1 at the Athlone Stadium.
Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns also reached the group stage of this season’s CAF Champions League after beating Remo Stars of Nigeria with a massive 7-1 aggregate score line.
Sundowns defeated Stars 2-nil at Pretoria’s Loftus Stadium. All three South African clubs will be in the group stage draw of both the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup to be conducted in Johannesburg on the 3rd of November.
