Alleged online drug dealers remanded in custody

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Gauteng says additional charges may be brought against four people accused of being part of an online drug syndicate.

The accused Norman Brits, Henry Crail, Mona-Lize Grobler and Cailin De Bruin appeared before the Pretoria Magistrate’s’Court on Thursday, on charges of illegally dealing in scheduled substances.

NPA Gauteng spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana says, “It is alleged that from 2021, the accused persons operated as a syndicate, running an online platform to trade and distribute scheduled substances and medicines.”

“After investigations by the police, the four were arrested and appeared in court. During their appearance in court, the matter was remanded to 20th of February 2025, for bail investigations, additional charges may be added,” says Mahanjana.
