All major airports ready to receive G20 delegates: Creecy

Transport Minister Barbara Creecy says she is confident that all major airports which are expected to receive international delegates for the G20 Summit are up to standard.

The minister was speaking at the OR Tambo International Airport, east of Johannesburg, where she provided a status report on the country’s airport infrastructure upgrades as well as state of readiness for this weekend’s G20 Summit in Johannesburg.

Creecy says all critical preparations have been completed.

“It is my privilege to confirm that South Africa’s ports of entry are ready to host the G20 Leaders’ Summit. Our aviation sector has completed all critical preparations to meet the rigorous standards expected for this historic event,” she says.
