The five accused in the AKA murder appear before court.
The case of five men linked to the murder of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane is once again set down for a pre-trial conference in the Durban High Court.
The suspects, who are currently in custody, face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, among others.
Forbes and Motsoane were gunned down in an alleged hit outside a Durban restaurant in 2023.
During the last court appearance last month, Judge Jaqueline Henriques ordered the state to get its house in order after it failed to furnish the defence with particular documents. These included documents related to ballistic results, CCTV footage evidence, bank statements of the accused and affidavits of 45 witnesses whom the state is expected to call to the stand.
The judge also ordered that no recording devices may be used in court.
Media houses previously were allowed to broadcast the court proceedings before the high-profile matter was moved to the high court for trial.
