The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) says crews continue search for the missing pilot.
Sixty-one-year-old Andrew Blackwood-Murray went missing on Thursday after his light aircraft plunged into the sea at Suncoast Beach in Durban during an airshow.
He had performed his final display when he appeared to have lost control of the aircraft.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon says they are continuing the search.
“The search and recovery operation, led by police divers, is ongoing. Advanced technology and advanced search technology continues to be deployed in the ongoing search.
Weather and sea conditions have not been a factor and has not hampered ongoing search efforts. Services involved police divers are leading the search, supported by aviation and aeronautical authorities, NSRI Durban and NSRI Umhlanga.”
The NSRI has also appealed to the public to report any finding of the plane’s debris.
