ActionSA President HermanMashaba and Deputy President MbahareKekana in Rustenburg to join councillors who will be laying criminal charges against the municipal manager for fraud and corruption.
ActionSA President Herman Mashaba and the party’s councillors in Rustenburg Local Municipality, North West, have opened a fraud and corruption case against the Municipal Manager, Advocate Ashmar Khuduge.
The party says the case was opened against the municipal manager for his role as the municipality’s accounting officer and his alleged involvement in financial misconduct.
The municipal manager allegedly failed, among others, to prevent unauthorized expenditure amounting to over R10 million and to prevent irregular expenditure of over R330 million.
Mashaba says that corruption is out of hand, and it needs everyone to take responsibility in fighting against it.
“We are here to come and lay criminal charges of this level of corruption that is really ravaging our country and our municipalities. This is a cancer of corruption. We, as a country, society, all of us, must really take the responsibility. As ActionSA, we are here to support our two councillors who are coming to lay criminal charges,” says Mashaba.
