Accused number one in the Phala Phala farm theft trial has received funds amounting to R9 million between the 3rd and the 31st of May 2020.
This is according to a financial investigating officer testifying in the Modimolle regional court in Limpopo.
Immanuela David and his co-accused, Froliana and Ndilinasho Joseph, are being tried for the theft of 580 000 US dollars from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm in Bela Bela in February 2020.
The financial investigating officer says David’s financial transactions were scrutinized diligently following the theft.
The investigating officer is the state’s 19th witness. He also told the court that David received money into various accounts through different methods, including electronic funds transfers and cash-send.
“The total amount that was deposited into the account for the period 3 February 2020 to the 31st was R9 million five hundred ninety-four thousand.”
