Convicted murderer Rassie Nkune is today expected to appear for a pre-trial hearing in the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court sitting in Mbombela for the alleged kidnapping and killing of Hillary Gardee.
Gardee, the daughter of Economic Freedom Fighters Deputy President Godrich Gardee, was murdered in 2022.
Her body was found in a plantation just outside Mbombela a few days after being reported missing.
Nkune’s trial was previously postponed numerous times after he fired his legal representatives.
Advocate Musa Mavasa has since been confirmed as his new legal representative.
Gardee was laid to rest in an emotional send off on the 7th of May 2022.
During her funeral service, EEF leader Julius Malema strongly criticised continued attacks on women in South Africa and assured the Gardee family that the party stands with the family as they mourn their daughter.
