Mpumalanga traffic authorities are once again urging motorists to exercise patience and drive with caution on the province’s roads.
Three people were killed and two seriously injured on Saturday night on the N4 toll road at Karino outside Mbombela town.
On Saturday morning, three people were killed on the N4 toll road between Matsulu and Mbombela near the Gorge.
Provincial Community Safety and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi says the accident was caused by a sedan ramming into the back of a light delivery vehicle.
Mmusi says injured people were rushed to the nearby hospitals.
“Three people’s lives were abruptly brought to an end on Saturday night, when a light motor vehicle collided into the rear of the light delivery vehicle on the N4 toll road between Karino and Valencia interchange. The sedan went on to overturn on the side of the road after the collision. Two people from the sedan sustained serious injuries and they were taken to nearby hospitals.”
