The bail application of one of the two men accused of the murder of nine people at a tavern in Pienaar, last month, has been adjourned by the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga.
Bongani Nkosi is facing nine counts of murder, one attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice and robbery.
Six people were fatally wounded and others succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
Nkosi has advanced the reasons why he should be released on bail.
However, the investigating officer Ben Nkambule took to the stand and stated that the pair had planned the shooting.
Nkambule has dismissed Nkosi’s claims that the shooting was self-defense as the accused were randomly firing shots on the day of the incident.
