Residents look on as the fire gutters the shacks.
Scores of residents from the Booysens informal settlement Camp in Johannesburg, have been left homeless, after a fire ravaged dozens of shacks this afternoon.
At this stage it’s still unclear what the cause of the fire was.
One of the residents, Difference Malatji, says his family lost all of their belongings in the blaze.
“I am feeling so bad. I have 3 cars and all the papers for my cars have been destroyed. I was at work and they called me. By the time I got there I was able to take a few clothes. We have lost everything even my kids stuff was burnt to a ashes.”

Johannesburg Emergency Services Spokesperson Xolile Khumalo says no casualties were reported.
“EMS firefighters are currently responding to as fire incident call in central of Johannesburg on Eloff Street. The call was received at ten past four this afternoon. Up to so far no injuries have been reported,” says Khumalo.
