Mpumalanga Education MEC Cathy Dlamini has launched the Back-to-School Programme campaign at Phatfwa Secondary School in Mbonisweni, near White River.

The initiative aims to encourage School Governing Bodies (SGBs), parents, and school management teams in the province to prepare ahead of the reopening of schools next week.

Dlamini emphasized the importance of readiness, saying, “The purpose of the launch of the Back-to-School Campaign is to encourage all SGBs in the province, parents, and our school management team to start preparing for the opening of the schools. You can only do that now because schools are opening next week. We want to make sure that by the time schools are opening on the 15th, the very first day, learners are starting to learn at school and not starting preparations.”

Schools in Mpumalanga are scheduled to reopen on January 15.
