Plastic View shack fire
More than 100 shacks have been burnt during a fire at Plastic View informal settlement in the City of Tshwane on Thursday night.
Search operations are underway to ensure that all residents are accounted for. This follows a multiple-shack fire at the same settlement that left a man dead on the 24th of May.
Plastic View Informal Settlement Fire Update:
– Fire is extinguished, and crews are busy damping down smouldering ashes.
– The area affected is bigger than the Sunday incident.

The city’s Emergency Services spokesperson Nana Radebe-Kgiba says that no fatalities or casualties have been reported as yet.
“We are still going to do search and recovery after we are done with firefighting operations. The cause of the fire will be determined once firefighting operations have been completed.”
