The African National Congress (ANC) has instructed former Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe to resign as a Member of Parliament (MP) and as the party’s Women’s League President.
Tolashe was found guilty by the ANC’s Integrity Commission for wrongdoing as the department’s minister.
She is accused of taking Chinese car donations meant for the ANC Women’s League and giving them to her children, among other things.
Tolashe has been charged with bringing the party into disrepute alongside other members including former Minister of Police Bheki Cele, ANC Sedibeng Regional Secretary Jason Mkhwane, Executive Mayor of the Matjhabeng Local Municipality Thanduxolo Khalipha and Councillor of the Johanneburg Municipality Sithembiso Zungu.
