Mashatile condemns killing of North West activist

Deputy President, Paul Mashatile, has called on communities to believe in the work of the police. He criticised the criminal activities that continued to target community activists.

This comes after North West community activist Thato Molosankwe was killed earlier this week, at his home in Lomanyaneng in Mahikeng.

Mashatile was speaking during the funeral service of former North West Premier Bushy Maape held in Huhudi in Vryburg.

Mashatile says the government is concerned about the killing of activists.

Mashatile says, “We do so at the time our province and our country are once again confronted by the painful reality of violence and criminality that continue to rob families and communities of their peace and security. As the government, we were dismayed and outraged by the barbaric killing of a community activist, Thato Molosankwe, from Lomanyaneng village in Mahikeng. This senseless violence is an attack not only on one individual but also on the values of humanity, justice, democracy and community activism as well, which many freedom fighters, including Comrade Bushy Maape, dedicated their lives to.”
