Impounded taxi
Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) officers have impounded 17 minibuses and one e-hailing vehicle during operations targeting illegal public transport and by-law violations across parts of the city.
The operation conducted in Pretoria West, also included inspections at formal and informal businesses to ensure compliance with health, safety and municipal regulations.
Several notices were issued for contraventions relating to business operations, fire safety and food safety legislation.
TMPD spokesperson Puleng Motholo says they remain committed to enforcing the law and ensuring the safety residents by clamping down on illegal operations and non-compliant businesses.
“TMPD remains determined to ensure that all legal protocols are obeyed and will not tolerate unlawful behaviour that compromises the lives of Tshwane residents.”
