President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Tuesday morning bestow National Orders on distinguished South Africans and foreign nationals who have made significant contributions to the country’s democracy.
The National Orders will take place at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria.
National Orders are the highest civilian honours that South Africa bestows on its citizens and eminent foreign nationals.
They recognise exceptional achievements, acts of bravery and efforts to improve the lives of others and build a prosperous nation.
Springbok Coach Rassie Erasmus is among the recipients of the Order of Ikhamanga in Gold for his leadership in rugby and contribution to national unity.
Musician Jonathan Butler and kwaito pioneer Oskido will receive the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver for their contribution to the music industry.
Anti-apartheid activists Jack and Ray Alexander Simons will receive the Order of Luthuli in Gold posthumously for their role in the liberation struggle.
The Order of the Companions of OR Tambo will honour foreign nationals, including Teresa Hillary Clarke and Cherif Keita, for their support of South Africa and the liberation movement.
