Suspended Director for Asset Protection Services at the Tshwane Metro Police Department, Tshukudu Malatji.
The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has rejected suspended Tshwane Director for Asset Protection Services in the City of Tshwane Metro Police Department, Tshukudu Malatji’s, application for a postponement.
Malatji’s legal representative, Sibusiso Nkosi, told the commission in Pretoria that his client was only provided with some of the documents on Wednesday evening.
Malatji is accused of security tender corruption, failure to declare business interests, and wasteful expenditure.
Nkosi says his client could not prepare because he did not have adequate time to go through the documents.
“I can even safely say, commissioners, was not even been able to look into what is being attached in the email which they sent at 23:52 yesterday, just before 00:00. That serves as another indication, commissioners, that we are not prepared. If there are some other documents that are still going to be produced at the last hour, when we should have already prepared and finalised our preparations for these proceedings, it becomes a problem.”
