The weekly efforts by police in the Northern Cape to curb crime have resulted in the arrest of 228 wanted suspects.
Police operations for the past week in all five districts saw suspects arrested for crimes that include murder, rape, contravention of immigration laws and unlicensed sale of alcohol.
Provincial police spokesperson Thabo Litabe says, “The suspects were arrested for offences including rape, fraud, domestic violence, possession of dagga, dealing in and possession of drugs, possession of precious metals, possession of uncut diamonds, attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, contravention of immigration laws, burglary at residential and business premises, driving under the influence of alcohol, and other related crimes.”
