Funeral flowers.
One of the three people who died of suspected food contamination at Mmotong-wa-Bogobe in Ga-Maja, outside Polokwane in Limpopo, was laid to rest at the village on Saturday. Linah Machete (54) and two other people died, while 123 others fell ill after consuming food at a funeral last weekend.

Johannes Machete says his mother’s passing has taken a heavy toll on the family, as she was the primary caregiver to his grandmother.
“We are deeply saddened by her loss. Death is something we are not familiar with. Her death has taken a toll on us. Our mother was the one taking care of her mother, my grandmother, and now that responsibility falls on me.”
