Nkhwashu extends apology to murdered Armand Swart’s family

Sedibeng Police District Commissioner Mbangwa Nkhwashu, who has been testifying at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria, has extended an apology to the family of Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart.

Swart was gunned down in Vereeniging in April 2024.

Nkhwashu has been accused of interfering in the investigation into Swart’s murder – an allegation he denies.

Nkhwashu has concluded his testimony.

A new witness takes to the stand tomorrow.

The Sedibeng District Commissioner earlier told the commission that if murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe was involved in Swart’s murder then justice should be served.

“I would like to apologize, especially to the family of Armand Swart, whose life has been lost at the hands of this brother-in-law of mine, and say, at least, I have tried to do justice, and I will continue to ensure that justice is achieved. If indeed he was involved in the murder of Armand Swart, he needs to pay for his deeds,” said Nkhwashu.

Justice Madlanga corrected Nkwashu, subsequently, corrected Nkhwashu for stating as fact that Molefe had taken Swart’s life.
