The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management Centre says there’s been localised flooding on several roads, particularly in Simon’s Town, where heavy downpours have prevented water from clearing quickly.
Disaster Risk Management Spokesperson Sonica Lategan says traffic has been diverted via Soldier’s Way back onto Main Road.
The weather has also affected traffic towards Simon’s Town near Main Road and the Glencairn Expressway, with officers on the scene managing congestion.

Lategan has advised motorists heading to the Navy Festival to expect delays.
In Constantia, a fallen tree is obstructing a portion of Main Road. Emergency services have been dispatched to clear the scene.
