ActionSA calls for immediate dismissal of Julius Mkhwanazi

ActionSA has called for the immediate termination of the contract of suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi after his arrest. SABC News earlier reported it had reliably learnt that Mkhwanazi had been arrested on charges of fraud, corruption, and defeating the ends of justice.

Mkhwanazi spent several days testifying before the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria about his dealings with alleged criminal cartel member, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.

He has also been accused of running a kidnapping and extortion racket in the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department.

ActionSA says in a statement that Mkhwanazi has brought both the EMPD and the City of Ekurhuleni into disrepute.

The party says he has forfeited his credibility and should not remain in the employ of the metro.
