Four people gunned down in Delft

Four people, including a 13-year-old child, have been shot dead in Delft on the Cape Flats in Cape Town.

Western Cape Police Spokesperson Andre Traut says they appear to have been killed execution-style in a suspected gang-related incident which happened on Wednesday.

Traut says, “Police responded to a shooting at a premises in Zandkloof Street where the bodies of four victims aged 13, 28, 40 and 41 were found inside a granny flat. All four sustained gunshot wounds to the head in what appears to be an execution-style killing.”

He says, “According to preliminary information, two unknown male suspects entered the dwelling on foot, opened fire and fled the scene on foot. The motive is believed to be gang-related. The Anti-Gang Unit is investigating the matter, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects.”
