Cross-examination of Bongani Ntanzi to continue in Senzo Meyiwa trial

The cross-examination of accused two, Bongani Ntanzi, is expected to continue when the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial resumes on Monday morning.

Five men are on trial at the High Court in Pretoria for the 2014 murder of the footballer.

During the previous court appearance last month, the state prosecutor highlighted certain physical characteristics of one of the alleged intruders who entered Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus on Gauteng’s East Rand.

According to the state, these attributes bear a striking resemblance to those of Ntanzi.

Several eyewitnesses described the second alleged intruder as a tall, slim male who wore a black hooded sweater on the evening the soccer star was murdered.

Some of those who were inside the Khumalo home at the time, Tumelo Madlala and Zandile Khumalo, also pointed out Ntanzi in court.

However, during proceedings, Ntanzi denied having a beard in 2014, countering implications that his appearance might link him to the crime.

The state is expected to question Ntanzi about his alleged role in the alleged contract killing when the trial resumes.
