DHL Stormers Team Manager Chippie Solomon.
The DHL Stormers Team Manager, Christopher Solomon, better known as “Chippie”, has died.
The Western Cape rugby community has expressed its shock and sadness over Solomon’s death.
He served as the team manager from 2004 until his death.
Solomon took charge of over 350 matches during his tenure. Stormers Rugby CEO, Johan le Roux, has described Solomon as a giant of the game.
Solomon is survived by his wife and two children.
We have lost a legend of the game. The entire rugby community joins us in mourning the sad passing of DHL Stormers Team Manager Chippie Solomon.
He was ‘nullis secundus’.

Le Roux says players, coaches, learners and staff will miss Solomon.
The deceased was born in Newlands but was raised in Bonteheuwel.
Solomon had been a teacher, coach and headmaster at Westridge High School in Mitchell’s Plain before moving to rugby administration.
