Limpopo family of four laid to rest after Easter holiday crash

Hundreds of community members and government officials have gathered at the Mayeke Primary School in Xikundu outside Malamulele in Limpopo for the funeral service of four members of the Maswanganyi family.

The family members died when they were travelling from Gauteng ahead of the Easter holidays.

This was after the vehicle they were travelling in collided with another vehicle on the N1 between Modimolle and Mookgophong last Wednesday.

The deaths of Collins Maswanganyi, his wife Patience, and their two children, Katekani and Kuhlula, have been described as deeply tragic and heartbreaking.

Their coffins were not taken to the family home in line with cultural practices and beliefs on those who die in car accidents.

One child who survived the crash is currently receiving medical treatment at Bela Bela Hospital.

The family will be laid to rest in Xikundu village this Saturday morning.
