Two killed, including 12-year-old boy, in Cape Flats shooting

Two people, including a 12-year-old boy, have been shot dead in Delft on the Cape Flats.

The other person is a woman.

Four other people were wounded and taken to the hospital following the incident, which happened on Friday night.

Serious crime has continued unabated on the Cape Flats despite the deployment of SANDF members to assist the police.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg says, “Police members responded to a complaint of a shooting, and upon arrival on the scene, they found the victims who sustained gunshot wounds to their bodies. According to reports, an unknown male knocked on the door, and when the door was opened, the suspect opened fire on the victims and fled the scene. The motive for the attack is yet to be determined.”
