ActionSA says it is unacceptable that President Cyril Ramaphosa cannot make public the details of performance agreements he had signed with his cabinet members.
In a written Parliamentary question, the party has called on Ramaphosa to make public the agreements, regardless of whether any minister had failed to meet their targets.
In response, Ramaphosa has indicated that the performance agreements have been signed and would be published on the government website in due course.
ActionSA MP Athol Trollip says it is unacceptable that the agreements are not public.
“In typical President Ramaphosa fashion, he says it’s in progress … but he has been monitoring their performance. We believe this is a really poor example. We demand President Ramaphosa lead by example. We have a government that is simply not working in all three spheres … and have the largest cabinet in the world that is held to performance agreements no one else has had sight of. We believe, as ActionSA, that this is simply unacceptable,” says Trollip.
