Tshwane Metro Police Department Police Chief Commissioner Yolande Faro appears before the Madlanga Commission of inquiry on 07 April 2026.
Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Police Chief Commissioner, Yolande Faro, has urged the Madlanga Commission to protect whistleblowers as they are often victimised in the workplace.
Faro, who testified about alleged corruption allegations in the TMPD, has concluded her testimony for the day and returns tomorrow.
She has also testified that Deputy Police Chief Revo Spies has been picked on for appearing before the commission.
Meanwhile, Faro confirmed that the department is investigating Triotic Protection Services Security company, which is believed to be linked to City of Tshwane officials.
Triotic Protection Services is one of three companies implicated in allegations of corruption pertaining to a security tender in the city.
Other security companies include Gubis 85 Solution and Izingwenya 210 Investments.
Faro told the commission that the department’s investigation is looking into the ownership of security companies providing services to the city.
“Obviously, we are looking into all of that because, as you said, I’ve read in the supply chain management policy when I started and it says you must not have a conflict of interest. So, we’re taking the supply chain management policy and seeing if was there any contravention also from that side.”
Earlier, Faro says she learned with shock about what has been happening about the siphoning of funds at the TMPD.
