Madlanga Commission police sergeant witness to appear in court


A prominent police sergeant who recently appeared before the Madlanga Commission is expected to appear in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

The officer’s property in Pretoria North was allegedly also raided by police on Thursday last week.

He was reportedly arrested and spent the weekend in police custody.

The Madlanga Commission, which resumes in Pretoria on Wednesday.

It is believed the officer was allegedly a middleman or runner for high-ranking SAPS officials in their dealings with alleged cartel members Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and Katiso “KT” Molefe.

He was allegedly to also be involved in tender manipulation at the Tshwane Metro Municipality.

During the raid at his home, police allegedly recovered firearms and ammunition.
