Gauteng Traffic Police have arrested seven suspects for speeding in the last 24-hours in the province.
This brings to 15 the total number of suspects arrested for driving above the speed limit since Thursday.
The arrests come as holidaymakers and church pilgrims are expected to start heading back to Gauteng from their destinations.
Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane says they remain concerned about the high number of motorists violating speed regulations.
He’s urged motorists to drive within the prescribed speed limit.
“Over-speeding is a contributory factor to road traffic fatalities. We remain committed to ensure the safety of our citizens; therefore, perpetrators of this offence will not be tolerated.”
